We rely on the generous support of parishioners and clergy who volunteer their time and expertise to support the mission of the Idaho Episcopal Foundation. There are many exciting opportunities to act as a liaison for your parish in addition to leadership roles on committees and our Board of Directors. We invite you to join us in supporting charitable work in our communities and shaping the future of our faith.
Parish Representatives
Representatives are elected or appointed by their parishes and act as liaisons for the IEF. The number of representatives allotted to each parish is based on total membership and each parish may have at least two representatives. These individuals attend our annual meeting each April, assist in hosting IEF visits to their parish, and may serve on one of four IEF committees.
We have open representative positions in several parishes. Contact Janet Hasson at (208) 345-4440 or foundation@idahodiocese.org if you are interested in learning more about the opportunity to serve as an IEF liaison for your parish.
Committee Members and Chairpersons
Four committees oversee and promote the IEF mission. Committee members are appointed by the Board of Directors and must be current representatives for their parish. They attend committee meetings, the IEF annual meeting, host IEF visits to their parishes, and act as liaisons for the IEF.
Committee chairpersons are appointed by the board president, preside over committee meetings, and attend both monthly executive committee and chairperson meetings.
Gifts and Bequests
The Gifts and Bequests Committee meets quarterly around the state. Committee members visit with clergy, vestry, or parishioners and provide education about planned giving opportunities through the IEF. Committee members also oversee the Bishop Tuttle Heritage Society, which honors those who have graciously left financial gifts to the Episcopal Diocese of Idaho, Paradise Point Camp, or the Foundation.
Grants
The Grants Committee administers our annual Grant Program. Grant applications are accepted until September 1st each year. Committee members meet twice during the fall to review applications and select grant recipients. Awards are announced at the Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of Idaho typically held in November.
Investments
The Investments Committee works with a professional investment firm in Boise to manage investment accounts on behalf of the IEF, the Episcopal Diocese of Idaho, individual parishes, and other Diocesan organizations. Committee members meet quarterly in Boise and members have the option to attend remotely.
Recognitions
The Recognitions Committee is akin to a “parish life committee” and plans the annual Bishop’s Banquet. Committee members also select our Excellence in Mission and Cornerstone award honorees as well as honor and thank those who individuals who have made donations.
Board of Directors
Committee chairs have the opportunity to serve on the Board of Directors. The president and vice president are elected by our parish representatives at the annual IEF meeting each April and serve three-year terms. Board members attend quarterly directors’ meetings as well as committee meetings and are invited to attend executive committee meetings.
